Week 13: 2015 Egg Bowl- 38-27 Win

The Rebels will finish the regular season at only 8 combos this season, electing to wear their traditional navy-white(with red)-gray road uniform in the Egg Bowl.  I was a bit disappointed not to see the powder blues again, or to ever again see the the white pants with red stripes that were worn only in the season opener vs UT Martin.

This will be the first time the Rebels have worn this combination in their current template in the Egg Bowl.  They last wore navy-white(with red)-gray in the 2011 Egg Bowl; in 2013, they not only wore the white (with navy) jersey and white pants, but removed the red stripe from the helmet.

Week 12: LSU- 38-17 Win

The Rebels will stay at 8 combos on the season this weekend, wearing the Navy Helmet, Red Jersey, and Gray Pants together for the second time this season.  LSU, on the other hand, is breaking out a surprise new combo: All White, using the white helmets and pants they wore with the purple jerseys vs South Carolina earlier in the year.

Week 10: Arkansas- 52-53 Loss (OT)

The Rebels will wear a repeat combo for the second time this year in their home game vs Arkansas.  The navy jersey will be worn for the third time, and for the second time with the navy helmet and gray pants.

Week 9: at Auburn- 27-19 Win

The Rebels finally wore their traditional navy-rwhite-gray road combo for the first time this year in their week 9 game at Auburn.  It was the record-tying (last year) 8th combo of the year for the Rebels.  With 4 games left (including a bowl game), it is very likely that the record will be broken with a 9th combo at some point.

Week 8: Texas A&M- 23-3 Win

It took 8 weeks, but the Rebels finally wore their traditional navy-red-gray combo.  It is their 7th combo of the year; thus-far the Rebels are one short of last year's record of 8 combos in a season.

Week 7: at Memphis- 24-37 Loss

After never appearing for 19 years, and only appearing once last year, the powder blue helmets will be worn for the 3rd time in the first 7 games of the 2015 season.  In the first repeat combo of the season, the Rebels will go powder blue- Rwhite- gray in their road game at Memphis, the same team against which the powder blues returned last year.

The game was the Rebels' first loss in the powder blues since the 1994 Egg Bowl, 21 years ago.

Week 6: New Mexico State- 52-3 Win

In the sixth game of the season, the Rebels finally wore their navy helmet in the same game as their gray pants.  They continued the trend of wearing a new combo every week; oddly enough, they have worn 6 different combos, none of which is the usual Navy/Red/Gray home look.

Week 5: at Florida- 10-38 Loss

In a stark departure from the previous two weeks, the Rebels are sporting a navy-based road uniform this week at Florida.  After wearing powder blue helmets, gray pants, and red-based jerseys for the past two weeks, the Rebels will wear navy helmets, navy pants, and the navy-accented road jerseys.  This marks the 2015 debut of the navy-accented jerseys, which were first unveiled in the 2013 off-season and were worn 4 times in the 2013 season and once in the 2014 season.  On the opposite side of the ball, the Florida Gators will also be wearing an alternate look: all-orange.  Though neither team is wearing their normal look, there is an undeniable color contrast between the two uniforms.

Week 4: Vanderbilt- 27-16 Win

As previously announced, the Rebels will wear the powder blue helmets tonight as they face Vanderbilt.  At the time of the announcement, we didn't know that the Rebels would break out the powder blue helmets for their trip to Alabama first.  As it turns out, this will be the second straight week for the powder blues to be worn.  Overkill? Possibly.  I like the powder blue helmets and like the idea of them being worn more than once in a season.  I would prefer, however, that its appearances are more spread out in the future.

It will not be a complete duplicate look, however.  At home, the Rebels will wear the red jerseys with gray pants instead of the red-accented white jerseys with gray pants, creating the Rebels' fourth uniform combo in as many games this season.

Week 3: at Alabama- 43-37 Win

The last time Ole Miss beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa was in 1988.  Back then, the Rebels still wore the powder blue helmets full time, with the white with red jerseys and gray pants on the road.  In their trip there last night, the Rebels donned that combo again for the first time in decades.  The powder blue helmets combined with Bama's classic look for a very cool old-school uni matchup.

Week 2: Fresno State- 73-21 Win

After being absent from the jersey and pants in week one, navy has been reclaimed by Ole Miss in week two in a big way.  The Rebels will go mono-navy for the third time ever (the combo was worn vs Louisiana in 2014 and vs Texas A&M in 2013.)  This time, it's red that will be absent outside of the helmet logo and stripe.

Week 1: UT Martin- 76-3 Win

In the 2015 season opener, the Rebels have debuted a couple of uniform changes.  Most notably, a new pair of white pants have been added, with a red swoosh and a double red stripe on the side.  Probably to be used strictly with the red and red accented jerseys, the new pants continue the trend of red and navy not being used together.  The other change also continue this trend: the SEC patch on the red jerseys has been changed from navy to red.  These two changes combine to eliminate navy from the Rebels' uni combo for today outside of the helmet.

Powder Blue Helmets to be worn vs Vanderbilt on September 26

Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork announced today that the powder blue helmets would be making their expected return this year vs Vanderbilt on September 26th.  The powder blue helmets returned last year vs Memphis for the first time since their decommission after the 1994 season.  Bjork said earlier this offseason, in an interview with Head to Head Radio,  that the powder blue helmets would be returning sometime this season, so today's announcement was not unexpected.

The game vs Vanderbilt will also serve as the Rebels' Mike Slive/ Prostate Cancer Awareness game.  The official color of prostate cancer awareness is light blue, so it may not be much of a coincidence that this is the game that the powder blues will return.

Though some fans aren't fans of the powder blues, most (including myself, a Mississippi State fan) like seeing them once a year, and some even go so far as to say that they should return full time.

Expect the helmet to be worn with the red jerseys and gray pants, as it was last year.  Though it was worn in the past with navy and white jerseys, it really pops with the red and it's hard to see them moving away from that combination.

2015 Uniform Template/ Presentation

The Rebels will wear the same uniforms in 2015 as they did in 2013 and 2014.  The only uni news regarding Ole Miss over the summer was that the Powder Blue helmets will return for a game.  The uni tracker blog will be using a different presentation style for 2015 (still depicting the correct elite 51 jersey cut).  #5 Robert Nkemdiche will be the jersey model for 2015; he narrowly beat out #10 "Swag" Kelly to succeed #14 Bo Wallace (2014) and #12 Donte Moncrief (2013).

Here is a preview of the 2015 presentation style:
